Why Does Pain Keep Coming Back After It Goes Away

Pain can be a reoccurring thing if not treated appropriately. Many methods can alleviate that pain like icing, heating, pain relivers, and more, but at times these things can only relieve the pain temporarily. Without proper rehabilitation, resting, and strengthening, that may leave a pained individual to keep having the same reoccurring pain. That’s where physical therapy comes into play. Physical therapy can help alleviate the pain and can also prevent it from coming back using various techniques beyond icing and heating. These techniques can be accompanied by icing and heating but physical therapy also helps strengthen the surrounding muscles around the pain, incorporates stretching to relieve the pain, and uses other forms of exercise to make sure the pain doesn’t come back or to educate the patient on what to do if the pain were to come back. Lots of people confuse temporary pain relief with complete rehabilitation or they neglect physical therapy to get better, but if pain persist, please reach out to Specialized Physical Therapy, so we can help you find out the cause of the pain and help fix and reduce the pained area(s).
